The Class of 2009 was chosen from 24,444 applications
(2,572 of which were early decision), representing a 17.4
percent increase in applications compared to the previous
year. 5,312 applicants were admitted through Regular Decision,
resulting in an acceptance rate of 24.3 percent. 1,072
applicants were admitted through Early Decision, resulting in
an acceptance rate of 41.7 percent. The overall acceptance
rate was 26.1 percent compared to 28.7 percent the previous
year.
42.1 percent of admits were Caucasian, 17.5 percent were
Asian American, 6.3 percent were African American, 6.7 percent
were Hispanic, 0.5 percent were Native American, 0.05 percent
were Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, and 21.9 percent either are
unknown or multicultural.
7.9 percent of the admits are international students. 11
percent of the admits are legacy. |
