Class of 2019 Admissions Statistics

 

 

 

Harvard

Acceptance rate at 5.33 percent

 

37,307 applicants applied to Harvard. 1,990 applicants were admitted. 1,013 of the admits were accepted during regular decision, and 977 were accepted early action. 

 

13.3 percent of the admitted students are Latino, 12.1 percent are African American, 21 percent are Asian American, and 2 percent are Native American or Native Hawaiian. 

 

Yale

Acceptance rate at 6.49 percent

 

30,237 students applied to Yale. 1,962 applicants were admitted. 1,097 applicants were waitlisted.

 

Princeton

Acceptance rate at 6.99 percent 

 

27,290 students applied to Princeton. 1,908 applicants were admitted. Of the admits, 767 were admitted through early action and 1,141 were admitted from regular admission. 1,207 applicants were waitlisted.

 

10 percent of the admitted students are African American, 12 percent are Hispanic, 23 percent are Asian American, and less than 1 percent are Native American.

 

Columbia

Acceptance rate at 6.1 percent

 

36,250 applicants applied to Columbia. 2,228 students were admitted.

 

Dartmouth

Acceptance rate at 10.3 percent 

 

20,504 applicants applied to Dartmouth, compared to 19,235 applicants the previous year. 2,120 students were admitted. Of the admits, 483 students were admitted through early decision. The mean SAT score was 2216 and the mean ACT score was 32.8.

 

Brown

Acceptance rate at 8.49 percent 

 

30,397 applicants applied to Brown. 2,580 applicants were admitted.

 

The Brown-RISD Dual Degree Program accepted just 3 percent of 512 applicants. The Program in Liberal Medical Education admitted 90 of 2,216 students, marking a 4 percent acceptance rate.

 

Penn

Acceptance rate at 9.9 percent

 

37,267 applicants applied to Penn. 3,697 students were admitted. Of the admits, 1,316 students were admitted through early decision.

 

MIT

Acceptance rate at 8.0 percent

 

18,306 students applied to MIT, compared to 18,356 applicants the previous year. 1,467 students were admitted. Of the admits, 625 or 42.6 percent were admitted early. 652 applicants were waitlisted.

 

Stanford

Acceptance rate at 5.05 percent 

 

42,487 students applied to Stanford. 2,144 students were admitted. Of the admits, 742 students were admitted through early action.

 

Cornell

Acceptance rate at 14.9 percent 

 

41,907 students applied to Cornell. 6,234 students were admitted. 3,589 students were waitlisted.

 

The average SAT I math score was 750, while the average SAT I critical reading score was 730.
